to TopOpened for business in El Paso, Texas, in 1967, as a branch operation of Clowe & Cowan, Inc., of Amarillo, Texas. On December 27, 1973, the operation was incorporated, under the laws of the State of Texas, as a separate company under the corporate name of CLOWE & COWAN OF EL PASO, INC. In June, 1982, this Company opened a branch operation in Las Cruces, New Mexico. On September 10, 1984, this branch operation was incorporated, under the laws of the State of New Mexico, as a separate company under the corporate name of RIO GRANDE PUMP AND SUPPLY COMPANY. Clowe & Cowan of El Paso, Inc. still retained a controlling ownership of the Las Cruces, New Mexico, company.
Our business began as a supplier of municipal waterworks supplies along with small hand tools and equipment. Industrial equipment and supplies were soon added together with automatic sprinkler systems, irrigation systems and electric motors and pumps of various sizes and uses. We continue today as a Wholesale Distributor, representing some three hundred manufacturers of technical and specialty products.
General contractors, including but not limited to mechanical, general, pipeline, water well, Municipal and Industrial, to include Resale Dealers and Distributors under our Manufacturers Representatives agreements. We service and supply Municipalities, hospitals, county, local city, state governments, agencies, military. All types of manufacturing plants, industrial mills, textiles, mining, smelting and refining, automobile, and Twin plant operations.
Our customers are based throughout the Southwest and the Republic of Mexico.
